Terms of Use
Effective October 13, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of qsmu.com (the "Site"), which is run by one person, as a hobby, under the name QSMU ("QSMU," "we," "us" or "our").
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Information only; no professional advice
The content on the Site, including articles, lessons, simulations, test results and newsletters, is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, security, legal or other professional advice. Nothing on the Site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or other asset, or to adopt or rely on any particular security practice. You should consult a qualified professional before making decisions in these areas.
3. Accuracy
We work to make the Site accurate and cite our sources. Results of experiments run on quantum computers are reported as measured on the date shown, and forecasts are dated statements of what was expected at the time. Information may nonetheless contain errors or become out of date, and we do not warrant that it is accurate, complete or current. If you find an error, please tell us at hello@qsmu.com.
4. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of the Site, including its text, graphics, images, simulations and code, is owned by QSMU and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. Material created by others, such as quoted sources, remains the property of its owners.
You may:
- quote short excerpts of the Site's content, provided that you credit QSMU and link to the page the excerpt comes from; and
- embed the Site's simulations on your own website using the embed code provided on the Site, provided that you do not alter, hide or remove the credit link included in each embedded simulation.
You may not:
- republish, reproduce or distribute whole articles, lessons or substantial portions of them without our written permission;
- scrape, copy or harvest the Site's content, by automated means or otherwise, for the purpose of republishing it; or
- present the Site's content, or any part of it, as your own or in a way that suggests QSMU endorses you.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation or security, or that places an unreasonable load on its infrastructure.
6. Third-party links and services
The Site links to websites and services operated by third parties, including the sources it cites. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. A link does not imply our endorsement, and your use of a third-party website is at your own risk and subject to its own terms.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, viruses or other harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, QSMU and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
